#5 Actius Vs Germanus [MUNERA]

----------------------------------------------------
Before the door opens, people already chant the name of Actius, a veteran murmillo of Hispanic origin, who has managed to win the public's favor (both in victory and defeat) for the intensity with which he fights his combats. Germanus, instead, is a retiarius little known by the public that, furthermore, by decision of the capricious editor of the games, will fight this time as laquearius. This style of combat, though similar to retiarius, has some complexity and Germanus is not entirely happy, ashe has not had enough time to practice it. However, the public usually likes the innovations... and that plays in favor of Germanus. If they want entertainment, Germanus will give it to them.

---------------------------------------------
The fight begins and Germanus quickly moves away from Actius. From a distance, it makes fun of the murmillo, provoking laughter of the public...

----------------------------------------------------
... but Actius does not enter the provocation and advances towards his adversary with steady pace, but not inclined to start a game of cat and mouse.

----------------------------------------------
Already in attack distance, both gladiators study each other for a moment, trying to guess which will be the next movemente the opponent will made.

------------------------------------
Germanus takes a step back and Actius sees the opportunity to attack and charges him. However, it is a trick of Germanus, who has left the lasso prepared in front of him, and so the laquearius ensnares the foot of the murmillo and knockes him down. Actius is at the mercy of Germanus but, inexplicably, the referees stop the fight and ask it to resume, with the murmillo standing and free of the lasso*. The crowd, outraged, berates the referees.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Actio does not understand what has happened... Has anyone bribed the referees in order to facilitate hisvictory? Whatever the reason, he is losing the public's favor and he needs to get it back. He attackas Germanus executing a showy combination of sword stabas and shield blows that excites the crowd... But the nimble laquearius, manages to avoid them one after another and, in a moment in which Actius lowers the pace of the attack by the fatigue, manages to catch the murmilllo galea with his lasso.

---------------------------------------------------
Germanus pulls hard on the rope, destabilizing the murmur, while shouting "Come here!". But Actius maintains his position and with a quick cut of gladius manages to sever the rope ... but the movement is not fast enough and Germanus takes advantage of the open gap to therad the right side of Actius with his spear.

----------------------------------------------
The referees stop the fight after the fatal blow (and possibly mortal, if it has reached the liver). Actius stands up and demands to continue the fight, despite obvious signs of pain and abundant blood loss, earning a standing ovation from the audience. But a painful cramp makes him to drop the sword... he throws with rages his shield to the ground, which causes a new prick of acute pain in the abdomen, and Actius surrenders just before fainting in pain ... Germanus kneels next to the body of Actius and places the tip of his dagger under the shoulder blade, awaiting the decision of the editor.

You know what to do ... Which will be the fate of Actius?

Results of fifth combat bets:

--------------------------
* I've narrated this way the fact that I forgot to add the value of SPEED in the roll to ensnare with the lasso... Had I done so, Actius would have been trapped, but instead Gremanus was pushed back....
