Assembling Xyston Trireme (part I - basic assemble)

Para montar este triere empezaremos preparando las piezas, limando y cortando los sobrantes. Lo mínimo necesario son la estructura, los remos, las cubiertas/bancadas de los remeros y los timones.

We will start preparing the parts, filing and cutting off the excess. The minimum pieces we need are: structure, oars, deck/benches of the rowers and rudders.


Montar todo esto es muy sencillo e intuitivo. Yo prefiero pegar la nave directamente sobre la base (3x8 cm) porque me resulta más fácil pintar así.

Este montaje sería más que suficiente, ya que velas y mástiles se dejaban en la costa cuando se zarpaba hacia la batalla.

Assemble all this is very simple and intuitive. I prefer to glue the ship directly onto the base (3x8 cm) because I find it easier to paint this way.

This assemble would be enough, as sails and masts were left on the coast when sailing into battle.

Si queremos añadir más detalle a la nave podemos comprar un blíster con marinos y hoplitas (ANC10016). Al separarlos vamos a dejar una pequeña parte de metal que nos ayudará a anclar las miniaturas a la cubierta.

If we want to add more detail to the ship we can buy a blister with sailors and hoplites (ANC10016). When separating the minis, we will leave apart a small portion of metal which will help us to anchor the miniatures to ship´s deck.


Después realizamos unos pequeños agujeros con el taladro para encajar las figuras.

Then make some small holes with a drill to fit the figures.


Una pequeña cantidad de pegamento bastará para pegar las figuras. De esta manera, conseguimos que no se note la unión.

Just a small amount of glue is enough to attach the figures. This way, we managed not to show the union.

Ahora la nave sí que estaría lista para el pintado, salvo que queramos incluir los mástiles y las velas (desplegadas o recogidas). Explicaré cómo hacerlo en la próxima entrada.

Now the ship would be ready for painting, unless you want to include the masts and sails (set or furled). The explain about how to do it in the next post.
