Knights of Dol Amroth [10mm LOTR]

Unfortunately, Copplestone Castings do not have a reference for Gondor knights. While I think about a way to get them (probably a conversion), I´ve had an idea to deploy a cavalry unit meantime: using Warmaster Bretonnian knights as Dol Amroth knights.

The original idea was to use knights of the realm figures and do some conversion on the helmets. But as I was a little lazy with green putty, so I finally choose the knights errant figures (also because I really wanted to paint them).

I think knights errant are my favorite Warmaster (RIP) reference. They have a brutal dynamism and very fine detail. The only thing I would have left out is some kind of purity seals they have on several places (and I should have removed ...).

I think the choice has been successful, and just painting heraldic colors the figures are clearly identified, don´t you think?

Nos vemos!

  1. Excellent work, as always. Perhaps see if a historical figures manufacturer has something that will work? Norman knights, Byzantine knights, cataphracts, that sort of thing?

    1. Thank you Parzival!
Norman knights were my first thought, but the size differences of diferent manufacturers is actually a problem for me. So, I´ve decided to make some conversions (shield and helmet) on Copplestone Rohan riders.

  2. Awesome. Imrahil was always a favourite of mine - the movies were great but leaving these guys out was a great injustice.
