New project: Mordheim in 15mm

Voy a empezar un nuevo proyecto... una vez más. Se trata de pintar unas bandas y hacer un tablero de juego modular para Mordheim... en 15mm. Paro ello pienso usar algunas casas de 4Ground y una mezcla de figuras de Demonworld y Splintered Light Miniatures.

I´ll start a new project... once again. The idea is to paint some warbands and create a modular game board for Mordheim... in 15mm. For this I´m planning to use 4Ground houses, and a mix of Demonworld and Splintered Light Miniatures figures.

Lo primero que voy a hacer es el tablero. Tras varias pruebas decidí usar secciones de 20x20 cm.

The first thing I´ll do is the board. After some tests, I decided to use 20x20 cm sections.

Los materiales que voy usar son:

- 4 tableros de DM de 20x20 cm

- Un tablero DM de 42x42 cm

- Listones de 1 cm de grosor

- Cola para madera

I´ll use the following items:
- 4 DMF boards (20x20 cm)
- 1 larger DMF board (42x42 cm)
- 1 cm thikness wooden battens
- Wood glue

La idea es crear una base con el tablero grande y los listones para que encajen las cuatro secciones (combinadas de diferentes formas) sin que se muevan. En este vídeo podéis ver una demostración de cómo funcionaría. Fijaros en el detalle de las esquinas para poder sacar las secciones fácilmente.

The idea is creat a base with the bigger board and use the wooden battens to fit the four sections (in different combinations) without moving. In this video you can see one demostration of how it will works. Pay attention to the cut on the corners, that will help on removing the sections with ease.

Norman crossbowmen [SAGA]

Por fin he terminado la unidad de ballesteros normandos que convertí hace tiempo.

At last I´ve painted the crossbowmen unit I converted some time ago.

Con esta unidad ya tengo 4 puntos de normandos para SAGA.

Characters (part III) [The 13th Warrior]

Last bunch of characters, for now...

Buliwyf

No estaba muy contento con la anterior figura que usé para representar a Buliwyf. La figura en sí me encanta, pero no representaba bien al personaje... Después de pintar esta última tanda de personajes me fijé en que una figura (abajo a la izquierda) se parecía bastante a Buliwyf cuando llega al poblado, con el casco y la capa de pieles. El problema es que la figura llevaba un hacha y Buliwyf una espada, así que tuve que hacer una conversión con las figuras ya pintadas... Cambié el hacha por la espada de la figura de la derecha y le hice con masilla un poco de pelo largo.

I was not very happy with the figure I painted before to represent Buliwyf. I like the figure itself, but I think it did not represent the character... After painting this last batch of characters I noticed a figure (below left) that closely resembled Buliwyf when it reaches the village, with his helmet and a fur coat. The problem is that the figure carried an axe and Buliwyf a sword, so I had to do a conversion to the already painted figures... I replaced the axe by the sword of the figure to the right and add some long hair with putty.

More gamming with my son

Aunque no he podido hacer muchas fotos, he seguido jugando con mi hijo y probando las reglas de Knight Quest. Aquí os dejo unas fotos de una de las partidas... una de las pocas donde mi hijo jugaba con los caballeros, ya que ha desarrollando un curioso gusto por ser el quien maneje a los "monstruos".

Although I could not do many pictures, I´ve continued playing with my son and testing Knight Quest rules during Christmas. Here you have some photos of the one of those games... one of the few where my son played with the knights, as he has developed a peculiar taste for being the one controling the "monsters"...
